Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Good software starts with quality. And as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you play a key role in this! You’ll take the quality of Meggsius Connect and our other digital solutions to the next level. You’ll do this not only by writing automated tests, but also by developing test frameworks, tooling and a smart approach to quality. In this way, you’ll help our development team to deliver reliable software more quickly.

We want to further professionalise our test automation and integrate quality checks early on in the development process. You’ll be given every opportunity and freedom to do so! Together with Software Engineers, DevOps and the Systems Engineer, you’ll work on web applications, APIs, data processing and integrated systems within Microsoft Azure. Software quality is a shared responsibility. Developers remain responsible for the quality and testing of their own work. You’ll take the technical lead in test automation and help colleagues develop better tests and build software that’s easier to test. Together, you’ll take the quality of our software to the next level!

Your career

• Developing a risk-based testing approach, with a focus on clear quality agreements;

• Building and improving maintainable test frameworks and automated API, integration and end-to-end tests;

• Integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and automating test execution and test data management using DevOps;

• Monitoring data quality and investigating failed tests and faults;

• Providing insight into release quality and residual risks based on (re)tests;

• Guiding developers on test design, testability and test code, and implementing structural improvements;

• Further developing AI for test design, test code, fault analysis and test maintenance – with critical assessment of generated tests and responsible scaling.

Your talents

• Higher vocational education (HBO) level of working and thinking in computer science, software engineering or a comparable field;

• A strong background in software development and experience in building maintainable software;

• Experience with test automation and building or maintaining test frameworks;

• Experience with API, integration and/or end-to-end testing, and experience with Git and CI/CD;

• Strong analytical skills: you independently analyse technical problems and develop structural solutions;

• Enjoy sharing knowledge and involving developers in test design, test code and quality;

• You communicate well in both Dutch and English and are comfortable working with English-language technical documentation.
